Haven’t you ever wanted to learn some of the back story to the lands you explore in World of Warcraft? Warcraft III will take you back before the time or Northrend and the Outlands, back when Arthas was Prince Arthas and not the Lich King, before the evolution of the Drenaei. Play through the campaigns as the Humans, Orcs, Night Elves, and Undead.  Some big events happened with the years thaty warcraft 3 took place; Arthas defeating Kel’Thuzad, Athas’ Transformation into the Lich King, Arthas ressurecting Kel’Thuzad, an alliance between Thrall and Jaina Proudmoore the leader of the Humans in Kalimdor.

The alternative is you can go and buy the lore books in book stores and read through them, but then you may never live through some of the epic battles fought in that time period.

Tower defense games have become increasingly popular in the recent years not only withing warcraft, but significantly in hand held gaming. Why not take a trip back to a time where games were simpler. Where you simply put down an icon and it kills something. There are many variations to the tower defense gameplay and many that have lived and updated throughout the ages. Some of the greats are Element TD, Burbenog TD, Nintendo TD, and Hell TD.

Could it really have been anything else? This Warcraft III map is so good, so immersive and so absolutly insane that it has games that have used it as it’s base. Demi-God, Leauge of Legends, and Heroes of Newerth to name a few games that have taken the idea of Defense of the Ancients and made it into a stand alone game. Icefrog, the original creator of Dota still updates the maps and posts them on www.getdota.com for the fans, of course now he wroks with a team of people and has beta testers to fine tune each update with.
