Blizzard Working on Fixing EU Hardcore Server Lag, But Be Careful

Blizzard has released a statement regarding the recent server lag in the European Union (EU) and their efforts to resolve it. While they have attempted to address the issue, the solutions have not been successful thus far. Therefore, players should exercise caution when playing Hardcore on EU realms this weekend. It is important to note that not all players are experiencing these problems, but even a slight delay could have significant consequences, potentially resulting in character death.

Greetings everyone,

I wanted to provide a brief update before the weekend begins:

Although we initially observed some improvements following the work and restarts conducted last night, it appears that the situation has worsened again, and our troubleshooting efforts are ongoing.

Regarding in-game notifications, we are considering implementing them. However, it is important to keep in mind that not all players are affected, and a general message about the possibility of encountering issues is always applicable. Displaying warnings that appear and disappear might create unrealistic expectations about when it is “safe” to play.

As for the possibility of rolling back or resurrecting deceased characters, we want to reiterate that this is not something we will entertain, and this stance remains unchanged.

We understand that losing characters due to technical issues is disheartening. However, in order to maintain the usefulness of this thread for ongoing efforts to address the problem, we kindly request that discussions focus on the symptoms currently being experienced. We appreciate those who have already contributed valuable information.

Stay vigilant for now, and hopefully, the underlying issue can be resolved soon!
